In all the Nordic countries, the green transition of the construction sector is high on the agenda. However, methods, data and practices for regulating the climate and environmental impact of buildings are not yet well-established. The Nordic countries, therefore, have a unique chance to align approaches and share knowledge on how to create regulation for climate emissions of buildings.
This can aid the policymakers in the Nordics and contribute to the European policy development. The Nordic collaboration can also ease the construction companies’ opportunity to offer low carbon solutions across the Nordics as methods and regulation on climate emission of buildings are compatible. Therefore, this roadmap for harmonisation seeks to anchor collaborating even further and support each Nordic country’s climate ambitions.
The roadmap is developed by Morten Buus and Swedish Life Cycle Center in collaboration with the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, the Danish Authority of Social Services and Housing, the Icelandic Housing and Construction Authority and the Estonian Ministry of the Environment.
