Harmonised CO2-eq Limit Values for Buildings and Monitoring Decarbonisation of the Building Stock

26january

This webinar on January 26th at 9.00-10.30 (CET) explores harmonisation of CO2-eq limit values for buildings and monitoring building stock decarbonisation. We present findings related to LCA, CO2-eq limit values and building stock modelling. We will present a detailed analysis of building life-cycle assessment approaches in Nordic countries, highlighting similarities, differences and the critical aspects of creating a harmonised approach for defining CO2-eq limit values for buildings. We invite attendees to provide their inputs.

Listen to Maria Balouktsi from BUILD Aalborg University introduce the project on limit values and decarbonisation

Join this webinar to explore the journey in establishing a more harmonised approach for CO2-eq limit values and monitoring decarbonisation using existing or planned statistical data. The webinar is hosted by our programme partner, Ministry of Environment of Finland and SWECO Denmark, who are responsible for the project: limit values and decarbonisation of building stock.

Project on Limit Values and Decarbonisation of Building Stock

This project aims to explore aspects related to creating a more harmonised approach for defining CO2-eq limit values for buildings. A project goal is also to explore a harmonised approach to monitoring decarbonisation of the building stock relying on available existing or planned statistical data. During this webinar, we will present our current findings and conclusions of the project.

We invite attendees to ask questions and provide their views and inputs on the methods, findings and recommendations.

Life-Cycle Assessment and setting Limit Values

This part of the project covers an analysis of national building life-cycle assessment approaches in the Nordic countries highlighting similarities and differences. It also involves an assessment of the parameters and variables that are most important for setting limit values.

Monitoring Decarbonisation of the Building

We will present an overview of different approaches to modelling CO2-emissions from the building stock and an assessment of available statistical data and databases that can be used for estimating CO2-emissions at building stock level. We will also provide recommendations on best practice for modelling CO2-emissions of the building stock and data requirements to perform this.

The webinar takes place on Teams, January 26th 2024 at 9.00-10.30 (CET).
